Here are a few pics of my newly acquired 1997 VFR 750F via iPhone...

The only aftermarket part is the slip on (Vance and Hines). It currently has 31000ish miles and is in incredible shape. I had a 2006 F4i and loved it but nothing compares to the sound that makes its way out of the back of this thing!!!

I was considering the f4i, it's weighs so much less but the riding position is a bit sportier then the viffer, how would you compare the viffer to the f4i? I am not quite sure I made the right decision with the viffer, I guess it'll be more apparent when I really get to ride my new viffer since I got it during winter I only ride it maybe once a week and that's if weather allows... just wondering...

I have ZERO complaints with the F4i other than it doesn't seem to have the "character" the VFR has...(of course my opinion). As far as riding it, I am about 5'11" and the riding position feels very similiar. The handle bars are stepped up from the tree the same as the VFR. It is one of the smoothest bikes I've ever ridden and as far as reliability...it's a Honda. The weight is a factor with the VFR...I can notice that quite a bit. It does take more effort to get the bike into the turn but I think it feels more stable thru the turn. I do alot of interstate riding and I am just as comfortable on the VFR as i was on the F4i. I am a casual rider and in NO way a pro but, I had to sell the F4i for finacial reasons and was pretty bummed but I came across the VFR that a coworker had owned from new and I love it.

Congrats! A couple of all-day rides and you definately be able to feel the difference! The Viffer definately feels much more solid and heavier but it is still no slouch in the curves. As you've come to learn the V4 sound is intoxicating. Do you mind us asking how much you paid?

Well no doesn't bother me...2000 even. Having known the owner and how it was kept and maintained I think it was a good deal.

The reason you got a good deal on it is because red is not the fastest color.

    Nice score!

One more thing....The first mandatory upgrade is losing the condom style mirrors. Take a look at the link below. The replacements I bought are a direct fit for 3rd Gen - 5th Gen VFR's (1990-2001)
