I'm finally going to pull the trigger on a 6th gen after drooling for 8 years. Ideally I want a brand new leftover with ABS.

I'm willing to travel pretty much anywhere on the east coast to pick it up. Have searched cycle trader and best deal I've found is $8,000 ($8650 OTD) for a 09 Black without ABS, and $7500 ($8300 OTD) for a 08 Gray without ABS.

I also called all the dealers within 50 miles of me (Boston).

It seems that just a few months ago people were posting on here about rock bottom deals, 07 RWBs for $7k OTD with ABS!!, 08s for $7.5k OTD. Where do people find these deals?? If anything I'd figure now would be an even better time to buy the few remaining leftovers.

Are there dealers known for having leftover VFRs at low prices? Can I search anywhere other than just Cycletrader or Ebay Motors?

    Thanks

Just checked OTD Cyclesports in Los Angeles, CA and they are "out of stock" on '08's and '09's. Sorry bro, that was the only shop I knew of with a "true" OTD price of $7500. I know another spot called Mid Cities Honda with a RWB but I don't think they really want to sell it though, the bike has been sitting there since '07. I remember when the tag was $11,999.99 with ABS and luggage. Now $8,999.99.

I think they moved quite a few to make some room for the all new bike. I'll try and check my local dealer, though. They had one last time I was down there from 06 or so if I remember right...

From what I can gather, the vast majority of the "leftovers" have been sold. In the Denver market they are gone completely. Because of that, the bikes that remain have recovered some of their original value. I would say that even if you have to spend $300-$500 more than what the absolute bottomed out sticker was, you're still getting a hell of price compared to what most of us paid, and that you shouldn't hesitate whatsoever in making the purchase; before what machines do remain are also sold.

Thanks for the recommendation about Lee Swazy. Are there any other dealers known for having very high volumes and low leftover prices?

    Thanks

I just got my rwb for 7500 not otd price but still pretty good and I know they have more, they keep getting them from the warehouse as long as they sell one they get another, it's in lawrenceville ga, lyhonline.com, they should still have it on their site look at the 07 bikes and they don't really budge too much on their price, it's not a bad deal considering that used ones are selling for around 6000...

ps, if you do decide to contact them and possibly get it from them, let me know, they may have a referral program so I can maybe work something out with them to benefit both you and I.

Thanks to everyone for all the help. I did find a good deal on a few 07 RWB in the low 7k range OTD, but these were not ABS. I decided that ABS was worth the premium and because they are scarce I pulled the trigger on an 08 ABS for $8700, $9200 OTD. Its a pretty high premium, but I will regret it if I don't get the ABS while I can still find them new.

    Thanks again

    Another Leftover VFR buyer

    drdreas,

I too am in the market for a new bike and think the VFR might be a perfect fit! I live in Florida and will travel throughout the southeast for the right deal. What is my target for a 2008 Non-ABS?

    Craig

Seriously? Dude, every day you wait, the price is rebounding. As the economy gets better with every passing day and people, just like yourself, are willing to consider purchases again, the prices go back up.

If you find one at a decent price, you better jump on it and worry less about whether you spent $400 more than the guy who bought six months ago.
