I LOVE this camera. If you don't have one, I highly suggest purchasing one. And don't skimp, make sure you get the HD. It's worth the extra $$. I've used it on my old Camaro at the track, on my Wrangler wheeling, my M3, my motorcycles at the track and on the road, my mountain bike, and more.

This is a double black diamond here in PA. Yes. We don't have "real" skiing, I am aware lol. This is the largest vertical in PA, though. First time out in 6 years, and I am re-addicted! I'm heading back again this Sunday :) Don't forget to watch in 720 or 1080 if your connection and PC/Mac can handle it!

Here's the trail map for reference.. Razors Edge: http://mappery.com/maps/Blue-Mountain-Ski-Area-Ski-Trail-Map.jpg

Anyone else here go to Blue Mt.?

I frequent Blue myself. Cool video, definitely good stuff. Razor's edge is a fun little trail but like you said, no where near real double blacks like in Vermont. I'm more of a Paradise guy. The sides of the trails where they dont groom is where all the good times are at. Looks like you had an awesome day for skiing. With the snow we just got this morning I'm itchin to go.

What camera were you doing the filming with?

Good to see another local VFR and skier/boarder here. It's definitely not Vermont or Colorado/Utah, but it's only a 1 hour drive for me, so no complaints! I finally made it over to Paradise for one of my last runs, but my camera was aimed too low - go figure. Supposed to be FREEZING this weekend (lows around 0 to +6*) up there, but that makes for good snow.

I use my GoPro Hero HD camera mounted on my helmet, same mounting I have for my bike helmet.

I'll keep the obvious comments to myself, except to say that the lift line looks to be more of a challenge than the terrain. I watched the video in 1080 and it looked great. Keep skiing; it may not be as therapeutic as riding, but it's damn close. If you ever find yourself in CO let me know, I'd be happy to take you up for some proper, if not crippling, diamond bashing.

I hear you, it is definitely the best skiing/riding to be had anywhere near PA! I've been looking for a camera to get some footage of spring/summer rides. I'll definitely consider that GoPro one. Where abouts in PA are you? I'm up in the lehigh valley. Your avatar says Brick NJ, I installed windows for a year or two in and around Brick Township.

We gotta set up some NEPA/SEPA rides this season. Havent seen too many VFR members in the area, gotta stick together!

Ive been out on my snowboard 10+ times this year. Did my first double black also. But again we don't have the craziest hills here, this one happens to be 40-45 minutes away so its convenient for even a trip out after work at night. Such a great sport and since I generally stay away from the terrain parks injury exposure is low-ish (but not gone, as its rather easy to bail!). Nice video!

I want to get down to VT or out to CO sometime in the next few years for some *real* snowboarding!

I'm down by Philly for work/home and Brick is the shore house - mainly in summer.

I have a warm weather bike route that I love to take. It has mainly variations but this is the main route:

    -202 North from West Chester
    -PA Turnpike East
    -Exit at 611/Willow Grove
    -Meet up with buddies
-Meander over to Huntingdon Pike (Route 232)
-Take that alllll the way to the dead end
    -Left onto River Road
-River Road into New Hope - stop for lunch/ice cream or whatever
-Head up River Road for some time
    -Right onto Route 611N
-Take 611 into Easton and stop for fuel/food/drinks at the Exxon
-Then basically follow 611N all the way up to the Crossings Outlets in Tannersville, right near Camelback Ski Area
-Take a few back roads up past Camelback, up to the top of the mountain and enjoy the gorgeous view/take a break
-Depending on the time of day/night and how tire people are, either take Rt 80E to Rt 33S to Rt 22W to Rt 476S back home, or ride the back roads back as well.

I love this route. It's my "safe" route as in I ride it all the time and know the roads very well. It gives everything you can want too: Highways, twisty back roads, gorgeous views, great food, great ice cream, plenty of places to stop for fuel, lots of photo ops if wanted, etc. You're welcome to meet up with us and cruise anytime, and I'd be all for a meet. This is the first time my bike has been through winter outdoors, and the battery is done. I hope the bike survives - it's under a waterproof cover, but I just noticed a small hole - though it's near the fairing so shouldn't be a huge deal.
