Well, there's a slightly cheaper way, I like the way these work more than the factory Honda ones, just a preference thing really.

    --BOLT Motorcycle Hardware--

Eventually these will become brittle and snap just like all other plastic exposed to, well anything really. But they're much cheaper and fit great!!

RTFM. They are very simple to remove or replace once understood. They also do the job once installed. There are numerous places to find similar clips for less but just keep a couple on hand since they do wear out and often suffer great stress usually induced from stressed folks who are looking for something complicated. You can download the manual on this site. I hope I'm not misundertsood. Check you handle and have faith.

If I'm reading the RTFM correctly, that's not his problem. As you said they wear out , especially after a few years of use on a 500lb vibrator.

If left in the Fairing these little clips are not at all pesky. I have not seen any break or fail just doing their job. They just seem to hang in there. Little clips holding big plastics in all sorts of weather and conditions. I've never done a pre-inspection to see a missing fairing clip. What makes them so bad then. There is always a discussion regarding what a poor fastener these things are. Left alone they do the job and do it well. Once someone trys removing them they fail. All by themselves? All the fault of the fastener of course. Not.... Imagine, trying to remove the fairing nearly all "fail", "break" and become the curse of the "wrench". I don't think so. I guess that's where the moniker "R&R" comes from. Just remove and replace. A little care and understanding of how they work and these things could actually be described as amazing. What if you took your bike to a shop for an oil change and they calmly asked for the price of the renewal of all the fairing clips. "Cause they broke when I took them out. RTFM No problem.

""As you said they .......and break easily"".......no, actually I didn't.

I guess I am misunderstood...just lkie the little clip.....

I live a ways from a Honda dealer, so I just take one to the local Auto Supply "Kragan" ect. and they have some simular in the automoive body parts area and some with a screw in the center. They work well.

I've been replacing them with M4 well nuts and stainless button-cap screws, works very well, is kinder to the fairing and looks better. They take longer to loosen and require an allen wrench, but they never break!

After some research, I believe you have the answer I am looking for. I am aware of those thing but it never crossed my mind. Thanks. And by the way, Austin is my favorite city, as I used to live in San Antonio. Anyway, I have to figure out which size to order for a fifth gen.

Praise Jesus!! I wonder if Jesus might question a dude who busts clips in one post and just a little while later is telling everyone he knows how to use them. IMO, Jesus would call BS on this one..LOL

I'm waiting for the drywall screw fix from St. Bob Villa, patron saint of handydoods everywhere.

BB's trick is to use nylon bolts and lock nuts. For holding stuff in place whilst repairing. a couple of wire ties work great.

Seem's you've been "readin the fuckin manual" too much to have some common sense, you don't have to remove any of the clips to change the oil on a 6th gen VFR. Oh, and if the shop broke a clip or two in the process of changing your oil, you'd probably get a new one @ "no charge" as they cost them next to nothing to buy in bulk. Falls under "shop supplies". Let me know when you've worked in a shop half your life and have a clue what you're talking about.

Shesh you guys are getting loud about fairing clips of all things.

jesusbuiltmyvfr, just look up M4 Well Nuts on eBay, add dome 20mm M4 stainless hex-head cap screws + washers and you're done. If you can find M4 Pan head screws then they would probably be even better.

As awarning, don't over tighten them, just tighten them enough to where the fairing is held securely otherwise you might damage the well nut.

M'thinks what is busting is not the clips themselves but the way too small tabs on the fairing parts themselves.

Then we got those cotton-picken soft plastic push rivets to contend with.

Many of the full service auto parts stores, body and paint suppliers, old time hardware stores with bins like ACE will have suitable and relatively inexpensive fastners.

Interesting that in your visit to correct your misquote in a post above you are still name calling.

But thanks for the attemp of covering up your miscomprehension. Given enough clues you do understand. Watergate rules. You learned the lesson.

And here you are again with yet another piece of misinformation.
You name call in your correction to your post and yet say there isn't any name calling in this post.

Be accurate. You more correctly might have said ....Just dropped by to cover my ass, name calling yes.....but it's in small print in my attemp to....

By the way...you don't change you errors satisfy any trolls....just be accurate the first time around and the trolls might not jump you.

Trolls....WTF....are you in fantasy land?:smile::smile: :bs:
Just an attempt at this damn computer stuff

We must all be careful of Cyburg who will track us down and kick sand in our faces if we rile him or snitch him out to his momma.

Even more interesting is that you continue to insist that I was namecalling, which I had not done until you accused me of such, ya booger head.

There is and never was any attempt at a "covering up" I clearly stated why I alterd my post, cause you're a booger head whiny ass troll.

Again, there WAS no name calling in this post, try out some of that comprehension you've been preaching, I think you'll find it may suit you just as much as baseless name calling does me.

Hey, lookie here, is this a misquote I see. I didn't at all change my error to satisfy anyone, troll, boogerhead, hipocritical moron, nobody at all. Once again, preaching about accuracy, comprehension, and incorrect quotes, and here you are guilty of all three. Let the troll who ain't doin what he's bitchin' at others for doin cast the first stone .................................go ahead and find one to throw a rock for you, I'll wait.

Mmmmm fantasy land, apparently you are still making a piss poor attempt at all this "computer stuff". Then again, maybe you are just a little under bridge dweller and I've had you pegged wrong all along............I shall ponder this now.....................
