Ok fellas, success. The sticker came off in one whole piece. I used the low setting but was very hot. I kept it approx. 14" away and when my thumb got hot I backed it off and then right back on again. So far so good. Now I have to get the backing off some how. I would say if your skin STARTS to get too hot, back off. I have a pic of the sticker for proof, I just have to find a away to post it here, or I will put it in my pics. After I get the goo off, I will take more pics of the nice clean fairing.

Is there any way we could get one of those pics in a poster size? IMO it would be great in the 2012 VFR World Calendar. The way the light falls across the entire scene, brought tears to my eyes and the convoluted remnant of a famous marque is deconstructionist art in the truest sense of the word.

Oh My. Bud...I think your banjo string broke. Here's what you do.

Go our onto the Santa Barbara Freeway at rush hour, Raise your right hand high into the air with palms facing forward, and yell as loud as you can "STOP IN THE NAME OF VFR WORLD!" If you still think that way....matter of fact, if you still think period, come see me. I have people.

Nice to see you got off...got it off OK. If you pony up an become and "Insider" at the ridiculous price of $20.00 per annum, one benefit is to post larger pix. Money goes to a good cause too. Reggie has a substance abuse problem we like to help him out with financially.

View attachment 14287 All finished with the one side. Very happy with the results. No marks, outlines, or paint fade issues, just red. I went against my rule and used wd-40 after verifying it was safe to get the backing off. I washed it with some some water and a rag, then buffed a little with soft buffing rag, and voila. Pics do not show the true red it is, more like orange. Tried different lighting to no avail. So here is the result.

Just a little update. Stickers are removed both sides. I am very happy with the outcome. The rest of the stickers will stay on for now. I think it is a gaudy sticker and dont understand why they put red on a sticker on a red bike. Each is own I guess. In the spring I will have pics of whole bike when its back together. Thanks for the input.
