I joined to gain some insight on the VFR800. I'm in the market for another motorcycle but I haven’t made a decision as of yet. As such, the Honda VFR800 Interceptor is one that I'm strongly considering. I currently own a 02 Honda CBR600F4i that I plan on keeping (IMHO- an excellent bike).
Welcome to the site! If you're looking for an excellent all-arounder, the VFR is where its at. I just picked up my first one a couple of months ago, still has me grinnin
Welcome to the site. Can't say I can offer any suggestions as to what bike you should get cause all I have ridden...ever is VFR's. My own (present) and two others belonging to people on this board. But I can say, after putting over 115,000 km (somewhere around 72,000 miles) since August 2006, I am very happy with this thang.
The Viffer has modest power and is heavier compared to most newer race oriented sport bikes but it can certainly keep up in the twisties and you can ride it all day long and still walk upright afterwords. The mirrors work very well as I am always able to see the other sportbikes BEHIND ME most of the day. Rollin
That's the plan; my next bike will be my primary. The F4i has been an excellent bike for me learns on and gets experience. I still enjoy riding it but I'm ready to move up sort of speak. I'm looking at a 09/10 Honda CBR1000RR, Honda VFR800, or the new Kaw Z1000. A local dealer has a 07 VFR800 25th Anniv. (Wht powder coated rims) with 2mi on it that looks really sweet for $8,4K. I'm sure I could work on the price.
Welcome and good luck on your search. I usually don't chime in about price, because I spend my money on what makes me happy, but the $8400 does seem a tad on the high side. Granted the rims are powder coated, but I don't think it adds that much to the price. If you decide to pull the trigger on that bike, just do some research before you go in there. Does it have ABS?
Hey Bro - I appreciate your advice and I welcome it, that is one the reasons I joined this forum. I too think the price is high, the powder coat isn't an expensive option and it does have ABS. I was thinking more in the range of $7.2K. I'm not hard up to buy but if their willing to deal I might pull the trigger.
Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will elaborate on this. If I recall - and this is only based on the "dozens" of threads I've read on this forum - it seems that most of the '07 are going anywhere from about $6900 (being an absolute steal) to about $7500+ (which still seems like a great price, IMO). However, I THINK these prices were for non-ABS. Typically, ABS will probably add a low of $700 to the price, and a high of about $1,000. Keep in mind that these are just parameters on prices, and while $8.4 seems high at first glance, with the ABS, you might not be that far off. And the RWB with the white wheels is pretty sweet looking! Keep us posted!
Welcome, anything that say HONDA on it, is good stuff. For getting to San Antonio in a hurry, I recommend a cbr, for getting there in fast, comfortable, style, VFR.
