Well folks, it is the new year some where so I might as well start.

2010 was a very full year for me. January saw me busier than hell at work getting all geared up to "Move the World" as was our motto for the Olympics to be held here in the Vancouver area in February. Being in the people moving business was critical during this event/

February, or most of it, saw millions of people enter our city at different times of the month to partake in these games either as participants, volunteers or spectators. I covered my thoughts on the Olympics in detail in a blog. I am still saddened by the tragic death of that youth from Georgia on the Luge track the day before opening. Otherwise the Olympics were incredibly successful.

End of May early June saw me jump on the bike and head down to Atascadero California to meet up with my new found friends, and meet a few more for the Annual Reggi's bash, Slo2010. If who I met there is a cross section of this whole site, then I can assure you that I will hang around for a long time. Everyone was just great. no other way to describe them. Except that damned Canadian....wait that was me.

July saw my Daughter buy her very first home and I was able to help her out a bit. She is all growed up now. And my son too. He continues with his education to become an educator himself. We are proud of that and looking forward to his success. He seems to be coming in pretty much top in his classes which is an improvement over his high school years. They weren't that bad either. See what you can accomplish when you have a goal to acquire?

My wife was presented and award for 35 years of dedicated service to the public in her government job. Well deserved and she deserves a similar award for about 25 years of exposure to me. We will celebrate our 25th in summer of 2011.

The only down side to the rest of the year was I was asked to, and agreed to leave my shift to see if I could, as my bosses said, "Work my magic" with another team that apparently were not working effectively. Well it was really a challenge. I saw a small improvement in their work, but when I sit back and look, the moral did take quite a jump, even though we had some rather heated discussions. SO maybe the target was to increase the moral. Then I succeeded. Half of them followed me to the new sign up in the new year. Time will tell.

Octoberish, saw my wife announce she is going to retire in 2011. Officially it will be in October 2011, but she stops work in April. Now that has me a bit worried cause I think there is the slight expectation that I will follow suit not too long after. While financially I can do this, the thought of it does not sit well. Oh...another bridge to cross sometime I guess.

Christmas was spent with the family at my daughters home. It was a quiet affair. Usually is. I guess the day is coming where I will no longer be able to spend each and every Christmas with our kids. Sucks when they are all growed up. You recall back when they were so small an tiny you could hold them in the palms of two hands easily. But I have great memories of watching them grow into fine young people. They must get that from their mother.

New Years will be yet another quiet affair with just my wife and I at home. Usually is. The days of going our and celebrating with noise and spirits has passed. We will await the new year, then retire quietly for the night and start the year anew in the morning.

Viennese and I wish you all a very Happy New Year, hopefully a year of continued good times and fortunes for many, and considerable improvements to the ways and means to many who have been fighting to keep their heads above the waters during these tough times. And to our Defenders abroad, may this year be the year that will show the greatest fruits of your labour and toll on your beings. Be safe.

The first 10 months were spent in a pitiful funk after some of the shittiest luck around.
October saw me get off my ass and try to do something about it.
November saw me blessed by God.
December has me thanking Him for those blessings surrounded by by my family in one of the most beautiful spots on earth.

    Happy New Year!
