Radiator Deliming/Flushing or replacement

    Pull the plugs and spin the engine with the starter motor. The water jackets and the radiator might be limed up but the pump internals are steel. Also, any chunks of lime still attached or not dissolved will be ground up by the pump. Get that sucker running using water as the coolant, run the bike and even ride it, then do a flush and then re-fill with coolant.

    The guys I know that race do not recommend the coolant they use that is loaded with surfactant.

    Ok, this is hopefully the last of my dealings with the cooling system

    I have no abilities to understand a wiring diagram so this is going to be a complete guess.
    It seems that for the fan switch, it shows the ground and the black wire going to it, but as I said on my bike the switch itself has 1 connector (fig. 1) and the ground is attached to the radiator itself(fig. 2).
    I'm wondering if i'm supposed to connect both the black wire AND the ground to the new switch that has the 2 bayonet connectors (fig. 3) because the switch is actually grounded to the radiator anyway when its screwed in.

    Any electric guys out there?
