I was hoping to find a cat eliminator with slip-on or even a full system; along with a PC V or Bazzaz unit. Two Bros lists their slip-on as adding 2 HP over stock at max HP. To spend the money even for a slip-on with 2hp increase seems silly. Also it would be nice to derestrict the 1st and 2nd gear reduced power map in the ECU, and remove the air injection system. Is there any instructions on how to remove the air injection (PAIR) system here online? And does anyone know the stock fork and shock spring rates?
Thanks for any info (new VFR1200 owner here)

there are pair valve removal threads here...but I personally don't know if they would be the same with the new machine.
good luck and welcome to the world

I wouldn't worry about getting massive HP gains with any new exhaust, on any bike for that matter. On a VFR, however, just the sound of an uncorked V4 is worth it. Plus you'll shave a good amount of weight and the bike will begin to breath better. If the 7 gens are anything like the 6 gen then what you're experiening should have more to do with less than ideal stock mapping from the ECU. A powercommander should cure a lot of what's ailing, but at last check Dynojet hadn't done anything in regards to a PC5 for the 7 gen. You may want to find out if a PCIII will properly connect, if so, I believe that it will be cheaper to go that route with a dyno tuned custom map then it would with an auto tuned PC5 anyway. Better tune and less personel labor for less money=good.

The dyno shows a flat spot at 3000 rpm that would be nice to fix. Some stock exhausts are better than others I know. Akrapovic shows a 14 hp gain with their full system on a Kaw Z-1000. I'll probably wait and see what comes out for the VFR1200; I guess it's too new or not like a full crotch rocket as far as aftermarket parts being available. Thanks

Akrapovic does have a pipe for the 7 gen, which also has little effect on HP. Here's the link with dyno, after seeing the charts it becomes rather obvious that better mapping/fuel management is what's really needed to fix those flat spots. Perhaps a full exhaust will perform slightly better, but where a VFR is concerned I really think that sound and aesthetics are what matters most when making your purchasing decision.

Link is now current. Just looked at the graphs again, forget about flat spots, that is a giant hole. Come on Dynojet.

Flat spots can be fixed and even made by remapping the system. Each gear has multiple maps for multiple conditions. A properly trained tech can adjust it to however you want it. We did plenty of mapping in Clinic 9 on the CBR1000's and the B-Kings. It's very time consuming and can be frustrating trying to get it just right, but it can be done.

To properly tune it, you'll need to put it on a Dyno equipped with an EGA. From what I'm readin on the threads there is a wait for DynoJet to have the software to access the maps. However, Honda OEM software can access it but you're going to be hard pressed to find a dealer willing to tinker with it.

I've removed my PAIR, EVAP, flapper cable... I've also removed the power limitations and installed a switch to flip back to the standard mode. I've installed a stebel horn, givi rack, yadda yadda.

It's all in here: Honda VFR1200FA Owner's Weblog

bike wont go that fast, and with a shaft drive would be difficult to re-gear.
My speedo would read 170 at 10000rpm. Probably 160 with the error correction.
But it accelerates pretty fast, and is pretty comfortable too. There is an electronic speed limiter, so it may go a hair over 160, maybe a real 170 with that mod to bypass the limiter.
