I have the full jacket liner, not the vest, the pant liner, and boot insoles. I have a pair of Teknic Weatherproof gloves (so called but not really). And a good Teknic 2 piece rain suit. I am good to go. I did not go for the glove liners cause regardless of the outer gloves i have worn, my hands get wet. And the boot insoles leave some to be desired. Maybe they have improved. They all plug into each other. You need to buy the control switch separately which does not make any sense to me. I wear the jacket most often but on the really cold days, I do wear the pant liner and the insoles just stay in the boot all the time. I had a overly long discussion with a rep at a motorcycle show that I ended up having to almost run and hide from this guy, but that's another story, I got the variable switch for mine. It allows you to have different levels of heat for your jacket and pant liners.

If this set up for some reason stops working, I will replace it with the same, but probably minus the insoles.

Depending whether some dumb shit has gone off the road cause the whole freek'n freeway stops if they do. But normally it is about 1 hour going, at 13:00. About 2/3 of that on the freeway. And 45 -50 minutes coming home at 01:30. Some traffic but very little. And Highway patrol is usually hanging out closer to the city that out where I am heading. But not always

Just installed these. Work great. Have five settings. Good price, too ($59.95 MSRP USD, but sell for less)! I do prefer heated gloves when it's really cold, though. The heated grips just don't do it at really low temps and high speeds.

Me? In the morning I ride from Manayunk to King of Prussia via Green Lane & the Schuylkill West, then down 202 South and into West Chester. Average time is approx. 25 mins to 55 mins depending on traffic (95% highway). My way back is up 202 North and then some back roads (Schuylkill sucks more than normal in the afternoon). This commute is almost always 55-65 minutes with 50% highway.

Get some Widder heated gloves along with their ventura vest, (no collar). Worked for me when I was in lousy New Jersey. Now I would never ride in that crap again after being jaded in south Florida. Freezing in Germany though so the winter gawds are laughing. Cheers I got beer to drink and brats to eat.

Motorcycle Consumer News just did a comparo of heated grips a couple of months ago. They bought several of about 8 different models and subjected them to objective testing and subjective comments about design and directions included and ease of installation. That would be where I would turn, that way you are getting the opinion of a person who has directly compared several brands. They also did vests a while back.
Otherwise for instance I could say "hey buy brand X, they are the best." When really it is just that I have that brand and like it. Maybe I have tried brand Y before and not liked it, but more likely I think X is the best because that is the brand I have. And really maybe brand Z puts out more heat and is easier to install.
Better to get an ojective opinion.

Very good point and wide advise. But that does nothing to boost your post count now does it?
