Final post & goodbye

This will be my final posting to this forum. As of tomorrow, my 85 VF500 goes off to the salvage yard to rest in peace. As many of you know, I was involved in a wreck back in early August which resulted in the bike being damaged beyond what I can repair. The bike would need and entire new front end and almost everything on the right side, including many parts of the motor (I would spend most of my settlement money getting it repaired).

I paid $575 for the bike and put about $400 into and the other guys insurance company is giving $3225 for the bike and almost $300 in title/license and taxes for a grand total of $3500. So not a bad deal. I plan on getting another bike, but not an Interceptor (there aren't any for sale in my area).

Thank you all for the help on getting the bike running earlier this year and the support following the accident.

I'm glad you ended up ok and that you ended up ahead in the deal. Do some careful shopping and get yourself a good reliable ride! You don't need to run just because you don't have an Interceptor anymore, look at me, they can't get rid of me.

 

$3525 .... seems like 4th gen is in your budget ... or a great start towards a 5th gen

Ok, you guys talked me into staying. Yes I plan to keep riding. I knew I was committed to keep on riding when I bought a new helmet in early October. In fact, last week I bought myself another bike.

I came across a really good deal on a 2003 Yamaha YZF600R and am excited to get back riding (once the rain stops, which should be about May).

You will find another viffer I THINK YOU NEED A 5TH GEN!

so what is a 2003 Yamaha YZF600R ?
looks pretty sportbike-ish. is it "on the edge" as in a fun ride for an hour then you need a chiropractor?
or maybe notsomuch?
I'd love to hear your take on the new ride & any comparo to your Viffer.
