i have finally got around to ordering a cdi box and voltage regulator for my 84 vf700

incase anyone doesnt remember my threads,

my red box went so i tried swapping the white plug box to it which was good but it went as soon as i tried it out...

i believe someone suggested volt reg went and was killing the cdi boxes when plugged into the red plug...

well i want to know before i hook the used cdi+vr i bought up to the bike could anything elce cause only the red plug cdi box to blow?

id have to waste all that money to be sol again

    thanks

Go for it, you gotta try it to move foward. CDI's take a dive from time to time and it may just have taken a shit due to age. Good luck.

Nope, that was the first thing I looked for on both boards, but nothing was obviously damaged...

    Hi,
what about pulse generators ? If they are "out" (also because of age) no spark at all...
    Hope this will help.

well what originally happened was the red cdi box went out and when i tried plugging the white on into that plug it stopped working as well, i checked by switching them back to the white plug and neither worked...
