    Howdy,

The limits are when you start scraping parts on the pavement. However, if you are a new rider, I would not be so concerned about that just yet. Go buy a copy of Kieth Code's Twist of the Wrist II and David Hough's Proficient Motorcycling. Read them and really focus on doing what they say. It will make an excellent rider out of you. If you have not already done so, I would highly recommend taking the beginner's MSF class. Once you have your license, take your bike to a mall parking lot or something similar and go through the drills until you are really comfortable on the bike. Then ride, ride and ride some more. Remember, practice does not make perfect, it only makes permanent. Practicing the right things makes perfect and permanent. After you have four or five thousand miles under your belt, try to work in a track day somewhere. It will do wonders for your skills and confidence.

Don't get caught up in the urge to be fast. Focus instead on being smooth and fluid when you ride. Fast will be a byproduct of good riding techniques. If you focus on fast first, your will scare the crap out of yourself, possibly crash, and eventually limit your full potential.

Never stop trying to learn how to be a better rider. Once you think you know it all, you are destined for trouble. ;)

    Adios,
