One of these days I will get a new car. That maverick listed above is a nice rig to own and work on.

My 87 V8 ranger p/u is needing a rebuild so right now all I have is the bike hauler for the most part. My wife has a kia if that counts? Pretty reliable actually.

My bike hauler.... an 05 powerstroke excursion

We went in to trade our 07 Eclipse for the rear drive Genesis Coupe but wanted better mpg, we bought the 2011 Sonata instead, lots of cars get good mpg but this is the first larger car I've owned or rented that you can drive the way you want and still average over 30 mpg in a mix of city/hwy. The 4 pulls strong with the direct injection, why did this take so long to come on the market? ..it works great. I hope they put this engine in the Genesis Coupe with the Turbo in the future.

Looked into that, takes a lot of cutting to the aprons, firewall and floor, different rearend, beef up the front suspension, just too much, think I'm going to build the 1724cc engine and keep it stock.

Oh, and I get better gas mileage from my Prius than I do from the VFR! Yes, seriously! Not as much fun, but 8 airbags, CD player, voice activated climate control, voice activated nav, room for the kids and dog.

Thats a great point, never looked at it that way. My perspective would be ,from the Southern Oregon border to the southern California border 13 to 14 hours, depeding on traffic and basicly the speed limit. Top Gear has really helped me with my geography. :)

My second car was a 1 year old 1976 Chrysler Cordoba, burgandy in colour. It was a nice car. 369ci but only had a 2 bbl carb on it. ANd the 360 with a 2 bbl was infamous for the intake manifolds to carbon up and choke out the engine on acceleration. But I traded that off a few years later for a shit box Mazda GLC that was rusted out. My first wife took that car and she was welcome to it. I kept the Lemans COnvertable and a 76 Chev 1/2 pick up with a 454. Fack that had get up and go. I kept the house and funrishings too.

Those Audi's are beginning to grow on me. I'll be needing another cage soon with my last 2 kids now driving (and still living at home). AWD is definitely going to be on the list

By the way Barley: A friend of mine in the Cherry Hill area is the proud new owner of the R8 Convertible, in RED. He picked it up back in October. Sweet ride. Consider one for your next Audi - don't worry about the wife and kids. They'll be fine.

Car, what car ? No car !

Squirrelman is po, and cars and trucks and insurance for cars and trucks is fo da RICH FOLKS !!

OK, OK I do presently own 12 bikes, but i have no money, and they're all old .

In winter i use the bus if i need to go anywhere.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

However.............. there is my old sportscar (1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce 1600) from the wacky 60s, which hasn't been on the road for 26 years, and i'm now rebuilding the engine cuza piston rings rusted to cylinders due to poor storage conditions. That car (and others like it) were my hobby and all-consuming passion----before i discovered motorcycles !!!!
