Please HELP Need voltage reading

    Please help, I need someone to give me a voltage reading on their battery with key off, at idle, then at 5000 rpm. My 99 VFR drops 1 volt from idle to 5000rpm. The books states that it should read 14.0-14.8 at 5000rpm. Mine is 11.9 volt. I have been experiencing very intermittent starting failures. I checked everything, swapped rectifiers, and new battery. My friends bike is identical in every way. Looking for third opinion.

    DO you have a shop manual...or go to this guys web page to get the the trouble shooting information.

    You my have an alternator problem. the Stator sometimes Fail....
    I just went theu the same thing but was the RR....
    Also check the Electrical section of the web form
