Has anyone tried replacing the factory cat with a custom off-road pipe.

I want to keep the stock exhaust and get better flow with a custom y pipe to replace the cat.

I would love to replace my stock head pipe but I have no idea where to look. I tried Erion Racing but they don't make them anymore. If anyone knows where to get one made near NY let me know

I have a local muffler shop that could do a custom pipe to replace the cat if that is what it is (center under bike) I just don't know what to expect on sound and performance. I like the bike nice and quiet, but a little more noise would be tollerable if there were performance gains.

I met a guy last summer that had an Erion full system he said it was much lighter than the stock system and gave a 13 hp boost in power with a PC also. Sounded nice too. Not too loud but very deep.

Any idea how much a custom system would be?

What I'm talking about just replacing the cat with a full flow custom Y pipe wouldn't cost very much at my local muffler shop. Probably 50-100 crispy chicken sandwiches.
