I have purchased a new 07 interceptor a bit over a week ago and am thinking about purchasing the maintenance plan, they said it's gonna be 1500 for 3 years and I could choose 6. my first wuestion is, is it worth it?(I plan on putting on some miles when the riding season comes back around) and what six maintenace items should I pick?( I figured oil change and valve maintenance would be my top 2 but I don't really know what else I should get with the remaining 4) like I said, I plan on putting on some miles once sseason comes back around and is probably gonna be my everyday go getter once I get saddle bags put on.

Unless you plan on putting on some serious miles I would pass on it an pay as you go for services. You will be money ahead to be sure.

I would NOT purchase the plan. Check the maintenance schedule in miles and years and the cost of the service. Now do the math. Can you wrench a little bit? Enjoy the whole ownership experience. Get dirty. It can be very enjoyable and you get to choose your oils and filters. And no noob gets to mess up your bike.
What I would be asking is what is the service date of your "new" battery? How about the age of the coolant and brake fluid? Was that installed in the fall of 2006? The service schedule is about 2 years for those items. Did anyone check the status of the fuel and tank? Gas filter? Injectors?
    Yes, it's a new bike.....but?
For $1500 for three years I'd come to your house and do the service and teach you how.
Nothing but fun. Don't forget to ask if the plan covers parts like plugs, chain, brakes etc. These normally are items that aren't covered because of normal wear and tear. So...just what do the cover????

thanks for that input, I do enjoy working on my own stuff I could do oil change myself but I can't really to things that are time consuming due to my hectic life schedule, I do love getting hands on but I don't think I want to do the valve maintenance and I hear it costs a pretty penny(600 from what I hear) every 16000 miles, I think I would put that on my bike twice this spring season, I do even ride now(while it's 20 degrees outside) and that's how much I love riding. if I didn't work 6 days a week and 9 hours a day I would opt to do everything myself but I don't think I have that kind of time...

depends on the miles you drive. If you're doing 2500miles a month and it's your daily driver, you might be one of the few who can come out ahead on a maintenance plan. I maintain my own bikes but end up taking the cars in to a shop for most things. I can do it myself but things are affordable enough to let the shop do it that my time is more valuable to me. The new bikes are not as easy to get at stuff for oil changes etc like the old ones were so it might be worth your valuable time to just go ahead with the plan. It costs me less to take my diesel in to the shop for an oil change than what I can buy the oil and filter for myself even before I put my labor into it.
