    Hi All,

Sorry about the absence as I don't normally get on the PC much but just thought I'd post some photo's of a recent rebuild I have done on my 2001 VFR800. I completely stripped off all body work including the fuel tank, wheels, forks, radiators etc. I have completely repainted all body work, forks, wheels, radiators, exhaust headers, cat converter, various brackets etc as they were heavily stone chipped from the previous owner, also completed a valve check, replaced a water pump and all service consumables. Only mod's I have done is fit heated hand grips, a Powerbronze double bubble iridium screen, a Staintune high rise muffler and removed the snorkel from the airbox. I'm yet to ride it as the weather here has been horrible!!!! Hope you like it....

Sorry nothing really detailed, it had about 3 large dents in the tank and the whole front and side of the bike was heavily stone chipped including the screen, forks and wheels. I'm pretty fussy so decided to repaint the whole thing, plus I like fiddling with the bike and wanted something to do. I have connections at work so the paint didn't cost me too much....

    Thanks everyone for the compliments.

The colour is stock although if maybe a shade darker and a bit more pearl through it than original, looks really nice out in the sun.

Not sure about the price on the Staintune but would be around $550 I think....worth every cent when you hear the sound and awesome quality....have to wait until the Aust dollar goes back down....it want take too long I think.

The wheels have been painted and clear coated, although I think powder coating would be more durable. I also colour coded the mirror caps as they
are normally black, I was also looking at getting some carbon fibre looking ones and see how they look on it.

Will be after another project a little later!!!

Very beautiful, love the blue that isn't available on this side of the pond. I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice.

Hey Crustyrider, your very welcome here. Best time is around November when we have what we call "The Snowy Ride" which raises funds for childrens cancer research and it's not too hot/cold weather wise, anyway the Snowy Mountains( or lack of around November ) is a fantastic ride on some of the best roads you'll ever see plus there are normally around 2500-3000 other riders that take part. Do they still sell Fosters, I don't think any sane Aussie would drink that crap....

Thanks FLYNVFR, seems there are a few colour differences between the 2 hemisphere's, it's called Candy Tahitian Blue if you're wondering.

Hi VFRod, I'm about 40mins southwest of Sydney in a place called Mt Annan which is next to Camden. Great suburb and only 10mins from some great roads to ride on, plenty of corners.......

Can't stomach Fosters, but I'll drink pretty much anything else........:drinkers:

    Here are my 2 previous VFR's 1992 and 2002
