only 150 miles per tank???????????

    Sorry to bring back a deadish thread but I read this and got to laughing. I went to the drag strip a couple weekends ago and my mirrors folded back on me. I found it amusing.

    Make sure your oil is fresh, the air filter is clean, the thermostat is good(right operating temp), tires have the right pressure, the chain is properly adjusted AND well lubricated, and the brakes aren't dragging. If everything is right as rain then your mpg is just the way you inherently ride. I usually get low 40's on my 99 with an all time high of 48 on a 175 mile scenic ride maintaining 55-75 most of the time.

    When I was riding (when it was warm out lol) I was getting anywhere from 150 on the low end and just barely hit 200 on the high end with mainly highway cruising. Most tanks, though, were around 150-170.
