    Hello all,
After a crash about 2 months ago, I got the bike back up to snuff and grabbed some black Pazzo levers to boot!
    Anyway, my question is this:
I want to powdercoat my passenger carriers and pegs flat black (to hide some grinding and scratches)and was thinking of doing the same to the muffler guards, end caps, and header heat shield.
Anyone else done this to their bike? Mine's an 04 asphalt black model.
I think it would look killer, but I'd like to see some pics!

I had my aluminum chainguard from thurnmotorsports (Germany) powdercoated black....that is all. Powder coated is more durable it seems.

My Imagination says for an asfalt VFR that would look badass...The pegholders would need to be stripped though but a reputable powder coater would/should do that for ya... I', also thinking if you doe the muffler covers do the whole thing...

I agree it would look cool to do the whole thing, but to tear it all apart and not be able to ride it?.... Unimaginable! The parts I mentioned are only gonna cost $65 for the job.
Did you mean the whole exhaust or everything?

I think it looks pretty good but I agree that the footpegs and holders would look good done also. Did you see Brian's?

Make sure your powder coater plugs the bolt holes. The build up of powder coat is extreme, and will make your bolt holes too small. It'll save you some time by plugging the holes.

Also, tape off any part of the foot peg that needs to fit into the holder. They wont swivel very well with a thick build up of the powder coat.

Good advice Tori.... I didn't think of that!
How do I look at Brian's? What's his screen name?
For some reason, I think I remember seeing a totally blacked out VFR either on this board or VFRD, but the server is running so slow it won't come up for me.

Will the powder coating stand up to boot abrasions? I know my rear sets are starting to get kinda polished from my boots.

What's the cost of ceramic coating? I was thinking of using VHT paint for the cans themselves.
Or... wrap the pipe from the collector? Nah... that would not look sophisticated enough for the venerable VFR!

That would be SLOVFR. Look for a post called "Mother of all days" there are some pics of his bike there that show them, although there isn't much to see as they kinda blend in.

Brian's does look good! Currently I've been riding with them off the bike (no opportunity to give any hotties rides...dammit!), but I think if they're black, they won't stand out so much with them on the bike.
I do put them back on when my daughters want to ride! They like the VFR much better than my sumo!

Sorry just catching up. Here are my sets powder coated. I kept the boot guard unpowdercoated to keep it polished. I still have some buffing to do to it. I may just end up covering it with CF vinyl. I also am going to get the brake lever done in black next. I had some marks on the frame from brake and shift lever hitting when crashed. I polished out the right side lower 2" of the frame and it looked ok but did not do the other side yet. So for it to match for now I just used the CF sheet to hide it.

:thumb:Looks sweet :) You should post a pic of the entire bike to show how it all looks together.
