    this sounds cool but doesnt it void your warranty? It sounds like the power problem is solved ....... however.. I think Myself personally if I spent 15K on a bike I might wait until the warranty is void before I go cutting up the wiring harness..but thats just me...

    I'm loving the switchable power. I modified the wiring on the harness coming from the GPS (gear position sensor) as it only cost $60 and can be replaced if I want a completely stock bike with no cut wires. I mounted a switch on the left handle near the clutch master cylinder. At first the difference was not obvious, then I took a hand full of throttle in 2nd gear at 3000 RPM and as it started to pull I flipped the switch. WOW - what a difference! So it is not just peak power at wide open throttle that is improved. I was probably at about 50-75% throttle and it really hit hard when I switched to unrestricted mode.

    So for normal riding stock is fine, but if you are riding in the twisties in the lower two gears you are really going to want to remove the restriction. I ride Deal's Gap in NC and it is tight and you ride in 2nd and 3rd gear for most of the time. The de-restriction really makes a difference.

    I am certain that the performance quoted in the magazines would be quite a bit different without the restriction. It has to improve 0-60 and 1/4 times. And so... you don't have to have it, the bike is really good without it but the performance is there if you want it and it is pretty easy if you are comfortable working making the modification.

    ... and you can use the normal mode for cold rainy rides

    any strides yet in the top speed restrictions? any one know what this thing will pull on the top end un restricted?

    these bikes are coming along fast. god id like to get one and:
    get to work on the headers
    high mount slip on
    bmc filter (maybe open the airbox)
    get rid of the 1st & 2nd gear restrictions.
    get rid of the top speed limit
    and then finally a pc5/auto tune and dyno time!
    it would be a fucking beast!

    I have a switcheable power mode on my bike too. It came with it even!

    It's my right hand, tossed in with a bit of common sense, with a dash of practice...practice...practice and a slab of learning experience.
