wrap the exhust w/ heat wrap from the converter up to the cans, also you can use the stick on heat shield for under the seat.
My 02 will warm my but on 85+ degree days when the bike is running at 195+

Geez, the Wonda Tech Line should be ashamed of themselves. Sounds like you have a dealership that is sympathetic to you. Just keep plugging away and you may get your answer. What northern state do you reside in>? I used to ride in 30 degree weather too, electrics help to ease the pain. Cheers

Where are you riding? Long miles across the desert? Mine definitely gets uncomfortable on long rides in the summer. Picked up taxi beads at Walmart for $8, trimmed to fit, and strapped them on the seat. No more problems. They are AC for my ass. Aftermarket exhaust could help too since there is much less metal to hold heat. Your operating temps sound normal though. Maybe you're just riding in too much traffic.

Check the obvious, is the exhaust fitted properly...is the under seat area still intact? The only other thing i can think of is the factory tune on the bike, if its not setup right it could run hot. Keep us posted on what they discover.

when i first got my bike, it got to the point where my right leg would get so hot it would be painful. after hearing it was normal for the bike to run hot, what i did was to buy fire retardant racing underpants. sounds dumb but it worked. i could still feel that my right leg was a bit hotter than my left, but it no longer hurt.

eventually, i ended up putting engine ice and i didn't need the oakley underpants after that. i know it is a different problem than what you are talking about, but i still think the pants will help reduce the heat transfer to your butt.

in any case, maybe you could pick up a pair of that pants until they figure out what is wrong with your bike? just a thought. plus as an added bonus if your bike ever catches fire, your legs, butt and crotch won't burn. :)

ok once again this may be me just overreaction and not fully understanding, but today i started up the bike to let it run for a little while i shoveled about 3-4 feet of snow drifts off my driveway. (Chicago area). I started her up and then after a little while i went to check it out, it was at 180 degrees, now i understand thats not terribly hot but in these weather conditions after only 10-15 mins should it be getting that hot?

Im just trying to get to the bottom of this.

That doesn't sound like anything to worry about to me. A bike will always run a little hotter when it's sitting still, and 180 doesn't sound like it's running hot anyway. That sounds like a good operating temp. If it rose up to 230 or something than I'd be more worried. I think you're bike is running normally.

EDIT: I just wanted to add that although the 180 degrees after running for 10-15 minutes doesn't sound abnormal, the bike pumping out enough heat to burn your leg does. My '06 may jump up in temperature if it's super hot outside and I'm sitting in traffic but it doesn't cause physical problems to any of my own body parts.
