I didn't know I was old until I started to read this forum. I am 66 and I love my 2002 VFR 800. Great ride to anywhere. I also ride a BMW, CB 1100 F, and XS650 just for kicks. Your never too old to have a happy childhood

Quite an impressive stable you have there. pretty much all Hondas, except for that BMW. Well no one is perfect.

Enjoy your childhood toys while you still can. That's pretty much my motto as I will be 64 in a month or so. These young guys don't know how good they have it, considering what we rode forty years ago. Cheers and keep the shiny side up.

Just kidding there Walt. If I could afford a K1600 gt, i for sure would have one in my stable. But alas my stable is limited to one horse at a time. I envy you guys that have bikes for different uses. But I must admit I'm pretty content w my VFR. Ride safe. Phil

look at the kootney tour 2010 roster, @27 I was the youngest rider their by almost 8years and our oldest would get into that age arugment. tell her to sit down, shut up and hold on tight, then take her for a lessurely ride among some twisties then on a long straight away, nail it! she wont complain too much after that, though you might end up shareing until she gets her own

Well Walt stable is just another way of describing the group of bikes u own. However, I used to own a real horse (Buckskin mare) and they are a lot more work any bike, but fun to ride of course. Many years ago (35) I used to live in a very rural area that bordered on reservation land where I had miles and miles of of old logging roads, just perfect for horses or dirt bikes. Sometimes I must admit that I miss my horse but not all the work taking care of her. BTW, your English is fine. Phil

Another sixty something VFR rider. The 5th gen is still a hoot to ride whether on a backcountry blast or a long tour in the mountains.

I also have a Wing and a KLR so I am into diversity............it is all good & just to ride is a blessing.

You are never too old for this .... Alaska 2010

I also have lost half my stuff but I did get a newer higher peformance model in exchange.

Oh, another youngster. And I thought the Gold Wings attracted all the mature riders. I think the VFR has its own little senior club within the forum. Nice to see all the 60 ish riders. Maybe we could get a AARP discount.

Maybe but it is worth it.

Somehow she prefers riding on the back of this one.

I'm 73, been riding since I was 15, just recently acquired my '85 VF500F, whatta bike. I'm still doing the dirt bike thing, did a 5000 mile trip out West and back on my Nighthawk in August with 3 buddies.

Wow! And on a Nighthawk at that. Normally for a trip like that you think big touring bikes...goes to show how everything's relative. A friend of mine did a huge trip across Canada and through the United States - all on a single cylinder 600 cc Yamaha.

My brother also has an old Nighthawk (an 82 or 84) and we ride together - he loves it.

I am 64. I have been riding since I was 13 years old.
    When I became 60, I downsized my bike from FJ1200 ABS (1993
    to VFR.

What were your reasons for downsizing? What are the pros & cons of both bikes? (I've thought of upsizing down the road....)
