Quick question, does the replacement of the silencer on my 2000 VFR with a high mount Staintune require a new muffler gasket from Honda?

    Thanks,

    Rob

My Staintune did not. On both of my VFR's, the aftermarket pipe wouldn't fit without removing said gasket.

    KC-10 FE out...

The factory gasket on mine stayed in the stock muffler when removing and my cheap delkevic pipe doesn't have any sort of gasket. Only faint carbon traces around the couplings show that any sort of leakage is occuring, as I can't hear any. This winter I'll probably pull the pipe back off and use some permatex copper rtv silicone to seal up the couplings. If you have any leakage issues, thats what I'd recommend.
