I am going to put back on the stock front sprocket on my 04 I just bought. The previous gent went down 2 teeth and I don't want the speedo off. If there is a link to PDF of Honda manual that would be great. Just don't want to break my new bike. Thanks everyone.

first ,you will need a impact gun to get it off ,opposite the direction of drive will get it off ,you can then remove the drive sprocket ,the torque spec is 51 N-m , or 38 ft lbs.make sure the bike is in 6th gear when you do this work.

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely wait and take it to my Ex Service Mgr. I am an amazing hack. If it was within 10mph on speedo I could almost live with it if its static.
    Thanks again.

I would try and find that manual because mine came off counterclockwise which would be the same as direction of travel. Putting into gear is to keep the engine from turning over when you try to loosen it. I just had a friend apply the rear brake so the wheel couldn't spin (requires that you still have the chain on) and used a socket with a long handled ratchet. If that worked on my 92 with a pretty rusted on nut you won't need an impact gun. It is pretty easy, really, you shouldn't have trouble doing it yourself. You can also get speedo healers if you want to keep your old sprocket, they are about $35 I think.

Between the speedo healer idea and realizing as part of Honda Riders Club you can access one Manual per year, I feel pretty set. Thanks alot. I am so glad I passed on the Triumph St, not getting the seat off without tools, and other design flaws would have driven me insane:frusty:
