I have been wanting to get rid of the ugly OEM condom mirrors on my 3rd Gen for a while so I finally decided to try out some aftermarket EMGO replacement mirrors made for the 2000-2001 VFR. They bolt right on without any modification needed and look much better than the stock mirrors IMO. You will need to re-use the rubber gasket from the OEM unit and the new mirror did not include any mounting hardware so you might need to buy some black allen head bolts from your local home improvement store for less than $5. They are a matte black finish unlike the OEM mirror which is more glossy black. They cost $36 each and included free shipping from http://store.58cycle.com

They also work on 4th Gen and of course the 5th Gens they were designed for. That means these are a direct fit for any VFR made between 1990-2001.

Anyways here she is all cleaned up...She has 12,243 miles on her as she sits. She has an after-market tinted windscreen from Maier and a new Corbin seat and bump-pad.

Yeh they look tasty. I bought the regular condominium replacement Emgo mirrors yars ago, they are fuggly, the one dull part of the bikie. Gona look into maybe getting a used pair of mirrors like yours. Nice windshield; who made it? Cheers

I have confirmed from another forum user that these mirrors will fit the 4th Gen. The quality is good and there are no waves in the mirror surface. The windscreen was made by MAIER but they stopped making them years ago. I found it on EBAY last year. I scored the near mint seat and bump pad from a fellow forum member on VFRD.

rollin- glad to hear the favorable outcome on your ticket going home from the fall-g2g.

dude, those emgos look pretty good.
mind throwing a caliper on those for a quick C/C dimension on the 2 mounting holes?

i think they should work for the 5th gen also. if so, i think im gonna follow your lead.

These are aftermarket replacements for the 5th Gen so they will definately fit your bike. I was initially shopping for OEM mirrors for 2000 and 2001 models but they were much more expensive than these. I am very pleased for the price.

    How long are they?

I was also thinking of replacing my condomn mirrors to similar ones.

What I'm wondering, they seem shorter than the original ones, what is the lenght of the mirror from the fairing to the outer edge?

I already have a problem just looking at my elbows, does it come better or worse?

I just recieved my y2k emgos and as soon as i opened them i also could tell they are shorter. Its hard to measure with all the mirrors off the bike but it appears the emgo's are about 1.5" shorter. The mirrors look so much better that i dont care.. Even with oem mirrors its cumbersome to see behind you so i dont think it will make a big difference
