Yesterday, I had a little accident. I low-sided on the right, wasn't going that fast. Good news is, I walked away no problem, thank God for full gear! Helmet didn't hit though.

Anyways, damage isn't all that bad, cosmetic only. Bike started right up and continued to run like new, no damage to any major controls (1/4 of my rear brake pedal is missing, oh well). Interesting enough, my right side mirror simply folded in upon impact; whereas my left side mirror broke off

Not concerned about the oil cover since that can easily be replaced. My main concern are the plastics. Front-side only, damage ends at the oil cover, rear of the bike is not touched at all. Since it's the RWB, what are the odds of coming across a replacement? And for what price? I'm looking at the damage and I think "some" of it can be repaired but plastic is a whole different animal versus steel :p

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

you can find RWB panels on ebay from time to time .

I bought a "spare" right side last spring off ebay with a very minor scratch for $40 shipped

That does suck my friend. I say bite it off and buy new plastic, you will never be sorry you did . Looks like it will run 500-600 bucks for the plastic.

Bummer. It's a win that you came out of it unscathed. The bike can be repaired. It looks like an easy fix. Let us know when you're done. It would be nice to see a before and after shot.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking ebay myself, though haven't searched for anything yet really. I have the whole winter to do that though, hopefully by this next season she'll be up and running again.

And, I should mention, especially if I do new plastics or repair them, frame sliders are a must at this point.

Man, I wish someone would make a right side cover protector. I'm has slid twice on it. Hope it has enough meat for a third if it ever happens. LOL

Hmm. It should be at the second line. Last time I had mine that high, the engine would run ruff. I drained it till it was at the second line and it ran like nothing was wrong. Very weird.

I just go by the line since you're not going to get "all" the oil out.

I don't know where you buy your parts, but they have you fooled. That is NOT $3200 worth of damage. I have a bridge for sale if you're interested.....

Who said anything about parts it’s just an estimate. I can give you price for the parts from 3 sources including the stealership. Had the same accident 4 weeks ago.
