Time heals all, for the most part. I won't bore you (or anybody else) with tales of injury that one adapts to; I guess we all have our share. Regardless, good luck with the surgery!

PS Nice brace! I've seen worse...

Good thing about DonJoy braces is there are refresher kits available to replace the soft parts and straps for about $100.00

No way to sugar coat it, knee injuries suck, but they will become managable.

Attack it with your usual vigor.

HOLY CRAP, this thing hurts. Not enjoyable, don't recommend this at all. Thank goodness for prescription meds.

Well, 14 days after surgery, my crutches are in the closet, hopefully for good. I must say this, my knee hurts & I don't recall walking being this difficult. I have zero strength left in my leg. This is sad since the only muscles I had that I was actually proud of were my leg muscles.

take care and don't push it.

I tore my menial miniscus playing sand volleyball. Same deal, turned and the leg didn't. Surgery, six weeks on crutches, released to work, that weekend I stood up from a chair and it exploded again.

2nd surgery, 6 weeks on crutches and a brace, released to work, next week climbing a flight of stairs it exploded again.

This time they drained 47cc of blood from the joint, 6 weeks on crutches and a free pass home for good. Still have problems with it and I've found I get about 5miles of hiking before I can't walk any more that day.

Sorry to hear about your knee and the pain. I feel your pain - literally.

I'm currently at home recovering from shoulder surgery to reattach my rotator cuff and repair a torn labram in the shoulder socket. I have to stay in an immobilisation sling for six weeks. It's hard to sleep at night because it throbs like hell. My arm is just wasting away and feels as weak as a puppy.

I can't ride for at least three months (optimistic) and probably won't get the full use of my shoulder for heavy lifting or risk tearing it again.

Still the bright side is I still have a shoulder and it should mostly come good if i cross my fingers.

HOLY CRAP! It seems as though you did something to piss your leg off. I can sincerely say I don't feel as bad now. The only two real hobbies I have are motorcycles & hiking. This is why this injury has got me so bummed out.

I have been there as well. I have 3 screws in my left shoulder from an on duty training injury. I only regained 90% ROM & still have trouble if I lift something the wrong way. Get well soon.

Since I am an outdoor person, I need to find something that isn't as high impact as riding & hiking. That being the case, I am going to start firearms instruction again. I used to teach people to shoot when I was stationed in SC. I would take people who have never touched a gun before in their life & instruct them up to proficiency at 25 yard pistol. It's fun & shooting is very theraputic.
