Afternoon all, Just signed up. I had a Rothmans painted VF1000RE about 10 years ago which I loved but I swapped it for a Ducati 750GT. I'm still mainly an Italian bike man but I recently saw a standard rwb '84 VF1000R on ebay and was tempted. It has a few cosmetic issues but seems good mechanically and has a new MoT. If you're out and about in the Cotswolds keep an eye out for a big fat bloke on a slightly tatty VF1000R! IanE
Just can't get enough VF1000R pics! Congrats and Welcome Ian. :welcome: Just love the paint scheme on those old VF1000R's. More pics please! BTW-What's an MoT?
Hi, Thanks for the comments. An MoT is a Monistry of Transport roadworthiness test - an annual check of the basic condition of a car or bike. Where in WI are you? I have had a friend from Madison staying this week, took him to a brewery on Wednesday and he's off to a mutual friend's in Lewes in Sussex for a big firework event tonight. Cheers IanE
I Come From The Land of H-D. LOL!!! I hail from a sleepy little snowtown that's tucked snuggly upon the frigid ice strewn Western shores of the Great Michigan Ocean which folks around these parts fondly refer to as Brewtown. :smow: Mad City (where your friend is from) is the Capitol of The Frozen Wastelands of Wisconsin. It's a crazy College town about 80 miles or so West of Brewtown. That town really rocks this time of year on Saturdays during College Football season. GO BADGERS!!! It's funny you should mention Sussex, because here in The Frozen Wastelands there actually IS a little village called Sussex which is just a bit Northwest on the outskirts of Brewtown.
I'm not biased at all, but nice bike! I believe that the US version of the '86 VF1000R (which I have) is like your '84 with the dual headlights, but the paint scheme is closer to the '85. Any plans to restore it?
