If I'm not the first to post this, I don't really care. Well, lookey here: 2011 CB1000R Overview - Honda Powersports Honda is bringing the CB here to the good ol USofA. Now the questions that will no doubt be asked by the bushel. 1) What will it cost? It should be $8999, but unless it is under the $10000 mark, it WILL fail. 2) Who will buy one? I am interested, but I will wait for pricing before I even remotely state whether I would buy one or not. 3) Will this bike be a market place success? See #1. There are way too many awesome naked bikes out there to be had. If you want the absolute definition of insanity on two wheels, you have the Street Fighter & bikes like it. This bike represents the "normal" & "responsible" end of the spectrum. It needs to be priced appropriately. Only offering color is a freaking idiotic mistake, but it's one that can be lived with if the price is right. This is the only glimmer of hope from Honda Powersports USA in a long, long time. PLEASE Honda, DO NOT screw this up. Price the CB right & give us about 6 colors to choose from. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
I would definitely like to see that wheel on my bike. I can't see any way shape or form how that bike is worth $13000. The CBR1000RR is $13400, so how could anyone justify paying $13000 for the CB? It's like I said, the bike needs to be under $10000 or it will fail. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
i would kill for that front end on my vfr. the back wheel is still a 5.5 with a 180 tire so i dont see to much point... but i think the most important thing: Rear Suspension Single gas-charged HMAS shock with spring preload and rebound damping adjustability; 5.0 inches travel im thinking this might be a bolt on for the 6th gens.
If they would bring the Honda CB1100R concept motorcycle as a production bike in the USA, I'd buy one...
The U.S. is lucky to see anything new, with the economy in shambles and nobody purchasing toys, Honda has switched it's focus to cars, micro vans, and scooters. The rest of the world has money and rides scooters like the DN-01. You have to produce something that sells and they could give two shits about the broke ass U.S. .......
I did not say it was worth that ,just it will have a price tag of that size. Local dealer was asking 16k for the DN -01........WTF?
im guessing it will be about $10500 give or take a couple hundo. thats what the fz1 goes for($10490) and the z1000 is $10599 i would think those are its direct competitors. so i dont think it necessarily has to be under 10grand to make it, but it HAS to be close to $10,500 to compete.
After checking a few UK & German web sites, the only thing this bike needs to freshen up the looks is a new muffler, since the stock one is UGLY. I am interested, just waiting to sit on one in the local Honda shop. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
According to Honda Powersports USA, the CB1000R will be $11000. This is $1500 too high. I predict the bike will be purchased by a few who have to have the new toy in the box. Other than that, it's going to be a hard sale in the US market which traditionally does not receive maked bikes very well. If I had the extra cash at the moment to buy a new bike, this one would be in the running, IF & ONLY IF, I could haggle down to a $9500 price tag. 2011 CB1000R Overview - Honda Powersports I will say this, it's nice to see US Honda finally bringing some new iron to the market. Even if the morons don't know how to price something competively. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
seriously? its only $400 more than a z1000 and $500 more than the fz1... the single sided swing arm and honda build quality more than make up for that. it will do fine.
Ol KC is terminally pissed off at something or someone all the time. This week it's Honda Power Sports. Next week it will be the the sales dude who blows him off after he walks into the dealership and starts running his mouth about how in his opinion Honda is selling shit bikes and how he should be running the company.
