under-seat exhaust on an FI????

hi guys
just bought 99 vfr800....
gearbox knackered, but sure, thats the fun, huh???

anyway, the thing i love about the vfr is the single swing arm. however, on my model,
the exhaust covers the naked side. i dont like that!!!

therefore, to those that know please, is it possible to fit or fashion an under-seat or tidier exhaust to my VFR800-X?

if you go to a muffler shop you can usually have them fab something up. i am getting them to fab up dauls under mine.

Wolf used to make an underseat system, but they no longer sell it. You may be able to find a used one. Thanks, hope you find what your looking for. I love the wolf exhaust too, but my wallet mandated a cheap delkevic slip-on. The great thing is, the pipe sounds great, is built really well, and only cost 160 bucks shipped.

 

i found a yoshi pipe and had a shop weld it on but im getting ready to have them do a dual system on it for me. but i gotta find another tip

I had two full Wolf slip-on exhausts with a Two Brothers header on the VFR I have now (long story). The system looked trick, but literally sounded like poop compared to a Staintune. It was VERY close to sounding like an open dump. I had a Staintune with stock header years ago, and have never been able to come close to replicating the sound, or the look...the high mount will uncover the swingarm nicely and the finish is easy to maintain with #0000 steel wool.

So, as expensive and hard to find as the Wolf is by now (and as expensive as the Staintune is also)...Staintune is the way to go by far.

I've got about 8-12 months to get one sorted... But I thought I'd throw out the feelers early.

I've had 2 of the Wolf systems on my '99 and 1) they were loud! I eventually got a restrictor from a UK seller to quiet it down but 2) it drove the already high underseat heat up that much more. Being in central California with our 90-100F degree summers it was too much. You may be better of with Ireland's climate. Wolf Exhaust, 5th Gen - VFR Discussion

My dream exhaust is a left side exit high mount, like the RC45. Hasn't been done before on the 5G afaik.
