Actually, the plates for supersports bikes is around 1400$... the plates for any other motorcycle is 627$.

57,000 miles is too high to mess with. There must be other examples of the bike you want with lower mileage, just be patient. BTW, your English is kick ass, I also had the opportunity to ride a high mileage police BMW Boxer a while ago, think it had something like 80,000 on the ticker and it had to be one of the nicer bikes I rode. Not everything ages the same way, that bike was special/lots of variables come into play. Just be patient. Have fun. I love my VFR>

Finally, I went to see it and just couldn't resist. For the price (you guys in USA can't even imagine how cheaper your bikes are), it was a real deal. Most VFRs sell for over 3500$, regardless millage and year. I've seen MANY 1999 100k+ km be listed at 3500$ and negociable down to 3200$. I've also seen a lot of VFR750 with over 80k km listed over 3800$... this VFR for 2750$ was a very good bang for my buck.

Rode it a little yesterday before I store it for the winter... can't wait until spring!!! :O

Hard to say if 90,000 kms is too much would depend on how its been treated and serviced, my long time VFR mechanic had a '99 Yellow Gen 5 which he sold at 85,000kms a few years ago was still servicing it with the new owner until he traded it well worn with 230,000kms on it.

go for it IMO but drop 2000$ cash in 100's and start dikering, 2800 is too much but at least its cheaper than new!
If he wont budge then flee-bay for 4700usd (last time i looked) for a 07 vfr800 and importing is simple, you claim the taxes you paid in the states against the taxes you would owe in canada, get a temp permit to an inspection center (most major crossings have one onsite) and pay for a canadian inspection then ride home on a temp insurance permit. plate it when you want to.
