I Have a 5th Gen VFR and am wondering if anyone knows of a place to get frame sliders. I have looked and find them for many other bikes and the only ones I have found that say for this bike they are like 80$. I was also wondering if anyone knows if frame sliders for another style of bike will work for this one. Thank you

I have tried a few places including Oggy Knobs. They dont make any for the Gen 5. Other companies do but they require you to cut a hole in your fairing.

use the search tool and look up Radar frame sliders. He's got a good kit (that I've not yet installed) but most importantly he's got a trick way of drilling perfect holes inthe fairing. If you aren't drilling, they aren't worth anything. Placement onthe bike is important too.

Radar seems to have mimicked the R&G slider design/location. I have the R&G kit on my 6th gen and I know they make a kit for the 5th gen as well. As for the GSG set it's overpriced. They don't stick out far enough to significantly save much and they want an EXTRA $42 for the reservior!!!!!!!!!!! The R&G kit comes with a new reservoir as part of the kit. Last time I looked up the R&G kit it was about $150, I'll find a link.

Ok, oops, I'm an idiot, the kit is $240............I'd still go with R&G because I doubt the GSG kit will do much but make you cut extra huge holes in your plastics. I've 0MPH dropped my girl on the R&G and it just scuffed it a bit, I have condfidence in these and so do friends of mine who do track days. Just my opinion, good luck with your farkle search and install when you buy.

Has anyone installed the Yoyodyne frame sliders?

Just wondering if anyone in the group has installed the Yoyodyne sliders? How well do they work with the lower frame placement?

Those came installed on my bike when I bought her. Guy had the little tiedown attachment's screwed onto the mounts though. I switched over to the black plastic pucks like you have shown here for asthetic value. I don't think where they are placed that they will do much good IMO, might save the foot controls from getting completely destroyed but I still think they would take some damage. As I didn't get the original factory engine mount bolts with her I haven't taken them off yet, interested in sellin yours???

This is what the tie down attachment's look like, mine aren't all shiny though :pout:

Thanks Metallican525 for the info but I'll probably be going for the R&G's. Good luck tracking down new engine bolts.
