03 VFR, Givi sidecase w/ fender eliminator

I am interested in a Givi sidecase setup and want to install the PL166 bracket. I can't tell from the Givi website whether or not the sidecase brackets require the OEM fender. (I no longer have the fender- I have a Competition Werks fender eliminator.) Has anyone installed the sidecase brackets? Does it attach to the fender or not?

I'm facing a similar situation and I wonder how you made out with installing the side-bag bracket. My 03 VFR also has the eliminator. Does it absolutely require the stock fender to install? Thanks.
