It is a transmitter that causes people nearby to ask stupid questions in their attempt to get reasonably intelligent answers. If a Californian comes near, an Oregonian usually pipes up.

Nice one dude, made me laff.

I really want to know what it is, but the jokes rolling in here are cracking me up as well.

if someone here actually knows what it is, dont be intimedated by the humor we do actually want to know what that thing does.

I guess honda vfr riders arent just the best people to be around but maybe have the best sense of humor also? I am thinkin so.

directed at everyone on vfrworld not just this answer.

maybe some noob at the plant drilled an unnecessary hole and filled it into cover up for his or her mistake, and watch now it'll be come the trend. now everyone will have their own warp speed button/skittles dispenser/tampon remover/seat ejector/etc.

think about it. some cave person, realizing that they have their own fire now and really liked the taste of that lightning-struck antelope decides to recreate the burnination effect and started the trend of bbq'ing steak. oops the chef left the cream outside in the winter, serves it as a gourmet desert and now we have icecream.

mistakes are awesome, they lead to the best surprises!! like yours truly lol.

Dude, its no big deal: its The Oil Slick Button. For whenever C.H.A.O.S operatives are following you...I didn't see EXACTLY where you live in Cali, but wherever you are, I think that they are especially active there... What, you didn't read that section in the CONTROL handbook?

Button for two options... depending on which option you bought the bike with..

Option A: Auto-Slic-Fiddy luber; See operation manual page 87, section 2 under "OMG NUKE!" heading

Option B: Opens up this thing:

From my informants world wide. That is the little used button that converts older V4s into twins.

Those white bikes are the new WingaBagos.

Come on guys, tell the truth. It really is the blow up doll activate button. This also doubles as the airbag or funbag as I like to call it.:boobies5:

I agree with wrwaustrailia. I've always felt that bikes should have an automatic panel light adjuster for night riding. My ST1300 has a button to push to adjust the brightness but automatic would be better.

It's the Automated Crash Button. But according to the manual it only works at 11,000 RPM in 6th if depressed for a period of 8 seconds at a 45 degree lean angle. But seriously it's THE CIGARETTE LIGHTTER!
