Just bought a brand new 2009 VFR with hard bags. I have decided on a Two Bros exhaust. Trying to decide between the C4 Stash (round) vs the M2 Vale (oval).

I know both exhausts use only the right side canister and I'm fine with that.

My question is which one will fit easier with the Hondaline bags? Or do both of them require modification/replacement of the "spacer" bracket in the rear?

I would love to see photos of the Stash exhaust with the hard bags.

    Thanks

I don't know about how it affects the stock bags. I have an 06 with aftermarket Krauser hard bag system and I've been pricing the TBR exhaust.
All I had to do was check Youtube and this video had me running to the bank to buy this exhaust.
    YouTube - VFR800 with Two brothers exhaust.avi

The new VALE system (with the removable power tips) is my preference simply because it's the newest version out there, and I don't have to do any mods to the luggage system to fit the exhaust.

Let me know if you do go with one or the other, I am interested to see how it turns out.

Note - on the TBR you cannot dyno the bike with the TBR exhaust. So if you planned on it I would either keep the stock handy or dyno it before hand.

Sounds like a Ferrari with the system on!

^^^ Whoever told you that a TBR can't be dynoed is full of sh!t. They do sound fantastic and I agree, the VALE is the way to go. Yes, you'll loose what little space the stash has to offer, but the VALE is a better can in many regards. Weight, removable baffles, sound, and aesthetics to name a few.

Edit: The youtube clips are having difficulty expressing the actual sound of the TBR, so if you like the sound in those clips, you'll be drooling when you hear the real thing.

I am guessing he may be referring to dynoing with carbon fiber or titanium cans. 2 brothers doesn't recommend dynoing with those cans. I'm sure they'd be fine though.

Back on topic... How well do the m2 vales fit with oem bags?

^^^ It's a tight fit, although the stash model is tighter. Either can be done without a bracket modification. The only thing to really worry about is the placement of the TBR's mounting strap on the stash design, it's not as important on the VALE set-up. Here's a link that discusses the stash set-up. Apparently there is some strategic screw placement, but nothing that's out of control. Again, the VALE is a better fit. I believe TBR actually took OEM baggae into account on the newer set-up.

I've seen and heard his bike and can attest there will definitely be drooling. This is the way I would/will go if/when I decide to dump my stock exhaust. These are sweeeeeeeeet... :hail:

Going back to the original post. I have the hondaline bags, the 2 bros exhaust oval (no stash) and competition werks fender eliminator. I found that the bracket for the bags comes at an angle toward the license plate. This causes a problem with the exhaust bracket because the 2bros sits horizontal. I had o reshape the exhaust hanger to so the ovals would sit diagonally like \ /. You have to reshape with the bag brackets on to make sure it doesnt rub on the exhaust. Its not hard, just takes time to get it perfect.
