86 VF500F fork tube diameter?

I did a search and couldnt find the answer to this. The reason I'm asking is because I want to change out my current headlight to something more custom, and need to know the dimension for the brackets.

Does anyone know the fork tube diameter in milimeters?

I thought they were 38mm?

 

they are infact 37MM
