Just finished the VTR front end swap, smog block off plates, BMC filter, High- rise pipe, O2 simulators and delinking the brakes. Now all I need is a PC3 and some 98 headers and maybe I leave it for a while.

The back wheels are the same. What's the difference in the front wheels?

I'd recommend doind the o2 eliminators. You will get them with your powercommander but you can do the cheap mod until then (see previous posts on o2 eliminator).

My bike had this cool lumpyness prior to the PCIII (I almost miss it) but it was running way too rich..

    Nice work..

Nice work on the front end. :thumb: Bike looks good. The 3rd gen 8 spoke wheel would look good, along with 'smoked' color front dumbos and a clear or smoked rear signal lens.

I've got a clean '99 header if you're interested, pm me.

I've never really liked the eight spoked wheels or the tinted turn signals. I think the amber lenses look ok with the yellow paint. I also did the three wire mod to the rear signals and think it looks good with the yellow.

I'm a little ambivalent towards the 8-spoke, I think the 5-spoke looks great on the yellow bikes. Nice job all around.

id just polish the lips of the rims, and leave the spokes black. i think itd look awesome.

that or paint the frame and misc other silver parts black.

With the RC51 you have to buy the whole front end. With the VTR, it slides right into your stock triple clamps with your stock handle bars and the stock wheel bolts right up. The RC51 is cooler, but a lot more expensive.

You add rebound adjustment and lose the linked brakes.

It sounds like this may be an option for me, although I'm not excited about de-linking. I actually like the linked brakes. My stanchion tubes have developed rust pits and I'm looking for a relatively simple and inexpensive fix. Are the VTR forks the same length as the stock VFR forks?

The tubes are the exact same. I have mine for sale. They only have 9700 miles and feel new.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

I found a place in So Cal where they'll grind, hardchrome, and regrind my tubes for about half the cost of new tubes. The best part is the hardchrome will be five times thicker than stock! I think it's a safe bet the hardchrome would outlast ME!

BTW someday I've gotta visit Larry at The Busy Little Shop. He makes some amazing stuff.
