Let's see what's on your bikes' keyring

    002.jpg

The dead monkey reminds me riding like a chimp gets you dead, usually forever if not longer

The skull represents fragility of body, and its non-user serviceable nature

And the black bike honors riders who paid the ultimate price, being their own fault or (oftentimes) someone elses

All tied together with a black ziptie so's it dont scratch up muh shit :nono:

I have one that goes on my primary bike, just last week swapped it to the 07. My good luck charm. May be silly but it has been with me for over twenty years. Yes it is a Metzler elephant.

Not much to see here Rustedroot.
This is an old pic, thought I'd show it to you anyway.
There used to be a little red and black leather key whip on the key ring of my VFR.
However that key ring was attached to my lucky "Spiderman" ignition key!

I say "was" because when I'd ride at high speed that key whip would stand straight up with the wind blast rushing up from beneath the triple trees and flop around wildly.
I was out one day doing a bit of.....ahem....."spirited" riding with my buddy Pez when the little steel hook that anchored the key ring into the head of the key worked it's way loose.
The key whip actually flew up and hit me smack dab in the middle of my helmet visor.
    Kinda startled me.
I was too lazy to turn around and go back to look for it.

It gives me reason to pause, seeing both "MADE IN CHINA" and "EXCELLENCE IN AVIATION" on the same item :plane:

    But cool, nonetheless

My dad got this in southern California during his surfer/hot rod days in the early 60's, he gave it to me back in the 80's. It was the keychain for my first car a 1967 Cougar, and has gone from car to car and bike to bike every since. Somewhere along the line it lost an eye and chipped a lip but it just gives it more character. I wonder how many miles it has under its belt now?

I agree. i was wanting to mention that i have done unreversable damage to my bike from keys floping around.

so today i bought a detachable keyring, so my bike key i can quickly detach it from my other keys and have just my bike key in the bike without the rest of them scratching it up.

Think this is more like it/I had the 4 mille wrench and streamlight key chain on my car key - bike keys are always abreviated so they dont scar up the triple tree. I do need the remotes for the bat cage and the gate though.

Those 43mm clip-ons are made by PowerStands Racing, more commonly known as PSR.
They originally came with Gold bars but I replaced them with Red and Blue 11 inch bars made by Pro-Tek.
