hi, i just got done cleaning my carbs, very straight forward, and i took my time and made sure every peice got back to its original spot. weird thing though, in the rear two carbs (i think 1 & 3?) the slow jets when i go to look through them in the light, i cannot see through at all...but the front two carbs right after i pulled them out of the soak and ran the compressor through em a bunch of crap shot out and i can see through no problem...so is this how they are supposed to be? i tried lightly giving a poke through and whatever it is, is not gonna come out easily so before i go any further if anybody could help me out that would be awesome....thanks!!

You should see equal light through all of the jets. Stop and clean the two you can not see through. They may put up a fight but if you strip some wire and pull just one strand oot and fish it into the jet and twist it and then blow through it you should be good. Some are tougher than others.

Are the #'s for both front and rear slow jets the same? Its stamped onto the side of them.

I dont have the factory specs in front of me, but possibly the rears have different diameters than the fronts? This is because some V-4's have downdraft carbs in the front position, but not in the rear, due to the mounting angle. Just a thought.

ok thanks alot guys... i ended up using a pin and just slowly twisting it up into both ends and that finally got it...

and yes btw the numbers were all the same...and i knew that i should be able to see through them but since it was my first time messing with carbs i second guessed myself lol... i just didnt want to screw any parts up...but, it was a good learning experience haha

    thanks again
