Finally got some time yesterday to dig into this. Had a second pair of hands / eyes with me also. Found what looked to be the source of the leak.

Coming off of the thermostat housing there are a few short hoses

    2003 Honda VFR800 INTERCEPTOR/INTERCEPTOR ABS OEM Parts, 2003 Honda VFR800 INTERCEPTOR/INTERCEPTOR ABS OEM Motorcycle Parts - BikeBandit.com

In the link above its part #18. Of course the loose clamp was on the joint side and not on the tstat side. And when I say loose, I almost thought the screw head was stripped initially because it turned so freely right away. The hose was pretty much just floating at that point. So a bit of pressure on the tstat housing to make sure the hose was flushed up and tight, a buncha turns on the clamp, wiping off the hose and its surroundings and about 20 miles on the bike afterwards. Dry as can be at that hose fitting now and the fairings will go back on tonite with some more riding this week (weather isn't going to cooperate til friday ish but I'll get some miles on it then).

Looks like we found the source and I got to tear into the bike a little bit! Thanks for the suggestions all and I'll be sure to whine if this doesn't fix it :)

Love the Chicken pictures!!! Got those coolant tubes on my EX too. Good to use some grease on o-rings when you re-insert.

Ah the infamous house #18 ........ to be honest I really, really thought I had everything tightened down there. Especially since I had no leakages when I was riding it...
