    Hello all !

I have spent a lifetime with motorcycles as a hobby . My Suzuki TC90 was spanking new when On Any Sunday came to the theaters. I've owned a couple Honda's during the late 70's , one a 1978 750 SS and then a 1979 CBX . I've spent the last three decades on Suzuki's for the most part. I've modified near all of them in terms of gaining engine performance in one way or other. The bike i currently use for sport touring is a 2007 GSX1300R .

I feel need to soak up information on the VFR1200 engine and ignition/fueling. I think i want to ride one for awhile. I like what i see in it so far .

    Good day all.

Welcome to the site. Can't say I am fond of the 7th gen. We are a mixed bag on that one here I think. I simply can't understand why on a sport tour, they would increase the engine displacement yet shrink the tank. I haven't warmed up to the looks either but I confess, I have only seen pictured so in life, I may change my mind.

Keep us posted on what you do.

    I got one ..

I took the plunge & part ex'd the 6th gen I had. Great bike, comfortable two up but 6 weeks after I bought it Honda UK are discounting it 12% Discounting what is supposed to be a premium bike 6 months after launch at the tail end of the summer can only mean one thing.. they are desperate to move some.

If you can wait till the spring I guess you'll save $$$$$

    Welcome indeed.
I think you will find generally a dis-like for the Gen7 on this site. (we'll see....!)
here is the issue as i see it:
it is generally a different bike from what WAS the VFR.
It's heavier, larger, larger displacement, has a different transmission, shorter range......it's different.
Many here expressed a need for more power, or maybe better suspension, or maybe a R/R that was less of a "fusable Link".
But nobody was looking for what Honda presented.
Not to say it's a bad bike. Just ....well......why did they call it a VFR?
I have a BMW K1200 that is about the same size & close to the same HP as the gen7. I like it. But i keep it with my VFR....because they are different bikes. They fit different needs. for me (and My back) the Beemer is a better long range ride. the (gen5) viffer is more fun on day rides or overnights.....and in the twisties and around town.
    Just my $.02
again welcome to the site! & let us know what you find...

    multi vs vfr

My new VFR1200 cost quite a bit LESS than my standard non-ABS Multistrada 1200 did.
