Starting a new thread with the proper naming.
I previously stated I had a fried starter relay but that was wrong.

Anyway, my bike just died one day at a friends house. no click no lights, nada.
got the bike going by using jumper cables.
got home. turn off... tried to turn on... nada again.

After ruling out the Battery as culprit, I traced the positive wire until I found this:

So I went to the honda dealer and got me a new one.

I also bought the kit to fix the connector

The bike is all good now.

Either name is fine, unless the monkey at the parts counter is not that bright. Afterall, a relay is a magnetic switch.

It doesn't look like there is a positive lock for the new connector. You may want to use a ziptie to hold it in place. If it vibrates loose, you may end up frying this one too. You should put some dielectric grease on there as well, due to it not being covered anymore.

Well, I came to the store with the wrong part # so I got the wrong part.
the counter monkey and I reviewed the diagram and got the right part #.

good point on the connector. I will put a ziptie for peace of mind and some grease.

    Thanks!
