Thinking of buying a new 2008 VFR800 Vtec. Need some info, I do a lot of long rides and am interested in the comfort level compared to say a BMW GS. Also need to know about bar vibes while hwy riding and heat level in summer. Any help would be greatly appreciated, dealer will only give a 15 minute demo. Also I have owned a Triumph Sprint St and found it a little tight in the knees for long trips.

stock seat sucks for any day over 200 miles ( unless all corners ) If your gonna do track days use the stock seat.
heat is an issue on 90 degree days in traffic, you get a bit hot from the bike running 200 degrees.
bar vibes, hmm not much at all that I notice.
now go get it and enjoy.

Sargent is the most popular aftermarket seat for the VFR. Most often wrist discomfort can be alleviated with an adjustment to your riding position and technique. If that doesn't help you can add helibars or risers to bring the handle position higher up and back further than stock.

I have the stock seat. I like the sargent seat and is on the list to get.
I also have heli bars but they dont help the wrists if you carry your weight on them while riding. Stock bars are better for ripping up the corners.
I perfer to hold my upper body up using my core and hugging the tank with my legs.

Heli bars, Sargent, Grippuppies and a Givi Windscreen if your are going to be doing any long hauls. The VFR is a great sport/touring bike but if you add a little to her, your touring will be more enjoyable.

grip tank w/ knees, arch back slightly to keep weight off your wrists.
you want a light grip on the bars ( more like hovering over the grips w/ hands ) no death grip or your wrist will hurt.
you will use core muscles to hold yourself up not your wrists
