I've seen other bikes with the rubber grips on the sides of the tank where you squeeze the tank with your knees. I feel like i would really like a set for my 5th gen. After looking for a half hour i have only found custom fit tank grips for the 6th gens. Do I have to get some universal grips and make them fit? Anybody have tank grips on their bike? I'd like to see how it looks. Thanks in advance, keep it rubber side down.

Tech-Spec brand was on the 97 fro track days. Very good. Follow directions and good to go!

Wish I'd found Tech Specs before I sent a lot more on the ST1300 pads I put on my VFR.

Now the question remains, do i get the ones for the 6g and put em on my 99 cause they are precut and have rounded edges or get the universal stuff and cut them myself. The tanks do have a very similiar shape.

I think I used the CBR900 pattern that came with the cut your own pack.

It was pretty easy. I just went through the patterns and put them on the bike (they are just paper) until I found one that worked.
