Yup, I have ranted several times about the "NOT AVAILIBLE IN NORTH AMERICA HONDAs" Shame is they seem a bit over weight & under powered. They look great but I don't see the reason the same tech they put in the R-models into some great looking standard bikes.

You know, all of this talk and I still don't think Honda is 'getting it'. Their stuff is not exciting anymore, at least not the new stuff. The VFR1200 is pretty blah and I don't think it's bringing in much foot traffic to the dealerships. They need a lineup of new and exciting motorcycles - they just don't have that at all.

Let's hope they will start opening up the pocket book and getting something done soon or else they might end up like............ Kawasaki.

Yes...I understand. The dealership near where I live has a new 1200 and it is parked in a row with all the other bikes and no one seems interested.

    It is the HONDA MANAGEMENT.
Get more experienced motorcycle people in e design dept. and get the transformer toy boys out!

i would be scared to death to buy that thing. First year, All those changes and technological breakthroughs.
If any of it breaks or does not work god help yo$$$$$
Every part of the bike completely covered with some kind of plastic panel with hidden fasteners.

If I ever have to remove a CB750 motor again from the frame I may just sell everything and move to Siberia. Certainly would be less painful. (And I wish I still had one inthe garage too..)

Every bike today was a first year bike at some point and I'm sure the fairing controversy came up back in the 80's. The bike may have some teething pains but it'll sort out and I'd bet it will be a great bike for years to come.

Exactly. Plus this is a Honda we are talking about, it's going to ooze quality from everywhere.

To get those engines out there was a trick to it.
Some people just lay the bike on its side ,release the engine and lift up the frame.

But you don't have to do it very often.
    Just buck up bucky.

And that's how I did it too. It still scratches up the frame that you just had powder-coated after completely disassembling the bike and spending major $$$ to upgrade and rebuild. Sorry, I digress...

I still have her too; she's just a little dirty(fire damage), needs a clutch and a rear tire.

Good video and did you notice the polished aluminum engine cases. Very nice- high quality.
Not like the cheap ass Honda Fury plastic (yes plastic !) engine cases.
If Honda can make that bike in the video I would buy it.
We will see what shows up at the American dealerships.

a motorcycle is all about its engine. The one place you do not want to be cheap is with the engine cases.
Remember the Honda 750 engine cases...well they are still around and in use.

Its like the front door on your house. You want the front door to look good.

Well it was good I waited for the second year when I bought my Honda 400/4 because
it came with a 5 speed instead of the 4 speed. IT looked much better too!
Also 50cc more ,4 into one exhaust and front forks without the tins.
Also no tins on the rear shocks and those tins always made sqeaking and scraping noises.

The 400F shown on the right.(second year and after)
350F on the left. (first year)

The 400/4 was a beautiful bike. Made from 1975-1977 I wasn't aware the 350 was part of that family... I just love that swooping exhaust of the 400!

@vfrcapn - I don't post much on sohc4.net anymore. I mostly lurk these days. Ever since I got the VFR I sadly have been neglecting the old CB. That will change now that I've been motivated to get it back on the road. I remember seeing pictures of your old CB on that site. I bet it was hard letting her go.

Back on subject I still can't find a new CB in the Honda line; I'm thinking it may have been an old article. But I did find THIS!

    LINK 2016 CB750!!

400/4's are great bikes - though painfully lacking in suspension and braking. Here are a couple of photos of a 400/4 cafe bike that I built a few years back - with Denoonsp and KSM Enterprises.

IC like your 400. Here's one we 24hr raced a few years. It was bored to 458, Ontario Moto Tech (Kaz Yoshama) hand bent header and cam, 1976 CB750 carbs, Hercules Wankel front end, light weight rims, 5gal fuel tank (made from 2 stock tanks), 2-100w head lights w/clear glass bezels. It would top out around 135-140mph. Great little bike, handled super. Fox rear shocks and single seat tail section after these photo's. We would still scrape the shifter in left handers at times.

I think they ought to bring back the UJM bikes. A CB750 or 1000 would be neat with todays technologies I think they would sell.
