About a week ago my good friend David told me about a little bike shop in Texas and wanted to know if I would like to ride over there sometime. I said when are we going and can I invite my brother. He said Saturday and sure Bobby can come. I called Bobby and this ride becomes the Scooter Pete's Bike Shop Ride. This ride will be somewhat short compared to the ones we have been doing lately, which is good, since it is supposed to be over 100 degrees today. The Bike Shop is in Tyler, TX. Should be around a 200 mile trip.

I told David and Bobby to meet me at the Chevron in Waskom, TX. And we will start the ride from there. David rides a red and gold Harley Davidson Ultra Glide and Bobby rides a Screamin Eagle Sportster. I ride a RWB Interceptor. This ride will be different because I just got saddlebags for my bike and put them on last night. They look sharp and I have wanted them for a long time. I will have to get used to the extra width while riding. Since David suggested this ride I was going to let him lead. I got to the Chevron first and another Harley rider came in right after me. We talked for a few minutes and Bobby shows up. At first, he thought it was David. David shows up next and tells us he doesn't know where the Bike Shop is at, just an idea of where it's at. Awesome dude, a ride to get lost. I love those rides; you find the best roads that way. We invited the other Harley rider to come with us, but he declines and we get on our way after Bobby tops off the gas tank.

We leave Waskom on US-80, heading west and pick up loop-390 to go around Marshall. We get back on US-80 and we stop in Longview for our first stop to get something to drink and BS a little. Then we pick up US-271 and head for Tyler, we make another pit stop at the Texas Smoke House just before the Tyler traffic. While we were there I got on my gps and found out where Scooter Pete's is at and we decide I should lead us there. We pass a bank and at 9am its already 88 degrees. Wasn't too bad until we started hitting all the red lights in Tyler. We worked our way south of Tyler and found Scooter Pete's with no problems.

This Bike Shop is small, but very friendly. They have individual parking spaces for bikes, a place to wash your bike, and a grill. They service all types of bikes. There were a couple of busa's and gold wings and even a small scooter. On the inside were about six or seven bikes for sale. A wall full of accessories and in the back was a tailor to sew any patches you have or bought at the shop. After looking for a while, we ordered lunch and let me tell you. WOW. The food was excellent. You get what you pay for. The price was also real good. We met the owner and he gave us our drinks free. I thought that was cool.

We decided to go back a different way so Bobby led they way back and he took us back around the Tyler Loop 323 to Hwy 31. In Longview we picked up US-80 and headed east. Around Marshall Bobby and David wanted to get gas, so we stopped for gas and drinks and BS a little. We decided to go our separate ways from there, so we said our good byes and got back on the road. I led from there with Bobby bringing up the rear. We went back around Loop 390 to US-80 and David and I got on the Interstate at Exit 628. Bobby kept going on US-80 toward Waskom. I got off at Exit 8 in Louisiana and David passed me up then, to go on home in Stonewall. I set the stand down with 214 miles on the clock. Had a great ride with friends and family.

Thanks, we had a great time. Me and brother had matching vf750(my avatar). He sold his and jumped ship to the Harley side. I don't know any VFR riders. Most of time I ride alone, but it's nice for the company. Thanks Again!!
