When I turn the key, the fuel pump doesn't start up. Battery is good and I checked all the fuses. And yes the kill switch isn't on either. Anyone have any ideas? I live in Tucson and only place I can take it to is Ride Now but they are freaking expensive. Thanks.

Does the bike crank when you push the starter button? Does the FI light stay on?

It cranks. It won't start cause the fuel pump in not making that sound like it usually does when you turn the key.

When you say the kill switch isn't on, do you mean that it's in the "Run" position or the "Off" position?

Check the leads to the fuel pump. If your not getting power to the pump start tracing wires until you find the fault. Check your ground connections and make sure they're all clean and good. If you have power to the pump then I would suspect the pump.

Ok, I checked the leads and I'm getting the 12V on the fuel pump connector (white). I also checked the blue connector for voltage and I'm getting it there too but not 12V, just 6V. Is that normal and what is that cable power for?? Thanks.

One more note. Since I'm getting 12V at the fuel pump, it is safe to assume that the fuel pump is bad?? Thanks again.

The 6v is probably for the fuel level sensor. Most computers use 5 to 6 volts reference to the level sensor and then based on how much is returned after traveling through the rheostat connected to the float in the tank, it determines what to indicate on the display. If you've got power and ground to your pump and its not buzzing away, shes cooked. You can do a simple test with little jumper wires straight to the pump from a 12v battery to see if the pump runs as well, just to be sure. Was the bike running one day and then wont start the next or did you just get the bike?

Yes, she was running fine one day and couple of days later, won't start. I ordered a fuel pump so hopefully I can get her running by next week. Thanks.

It was the fuel pump. But I accidently broke off on of the bolts that the fuel pump screws into. Sooooo freaking pissed. Luckily I have another tank but it is pretty scratched and banged up. It will do for now. Was wondering if any of you guys ran into this problem and what you did to fix it.

I was thinking if I can take the dented tank to a machine/metal shop and see if they can take it off and put it into my good tank. Any thoughts???
