My first bike was a Yamaha RD250LC. Loved that bike. It sounded like a 100 lawnmowers. It gave the feeling of going really fast without the breakneck speed of current bikes. Hopefully the photo will load up. The right hand indicator is smashed. I had just had an accident about a week before (1995). I ran into a pedestrian who stepped out between two parked cars and just kept coming. Oh yeah, he was an 81 year old priest. Judging by the noise my bike made he probably thought it was a whipper snipper or something. He did survive, and even got a ride in an ambulance. I didnt sleep for weeks!

Nice dropped bars on that yamaha. You clipped a priest damn dude lucky you didnt go to hell right there. I had a pedestrian bastard cross in front of me once and I hit him with my pinky knuckle. Kept on going and the silly arse made it across the street. Must have been pretty sore cause the next morning my little knuckle was as black as my kawasakis paint job. Damn.

    Ridevfr,
    I bet that hurt!
I dont know why the right indicator smashed, I swear I hit him on the left. I didnt just clip him, I centre punched him right under the ribs. (poor bugger) I think I put it down on the right side after I hit him. Tough little bikes the RD. It was inexperience, it target fixated him big time.

Sorry ...You are right that was a 1963, and the earliest model I can find was a 1958.
Probably the 1950 model is VERY rare now and maybe brownie cameras and that film
did not last this long to get it scanned into digital information.

My first ride was a 1975 kawasaki kz400 that i bought last summer. The motor had blown up and the fork was toast. I put a motor out of a 76 in it and a fork off a 74 that i found on ebay and rode it 4 thousand miles in a year. Fun little bike despite the terrible brakes and that it couldn't get out of its own way. The friend of mine that sold it to me bought it back cause it was his first bike, he just didn't have the capability to fix it. Now I have my 99 vfr and couldn't be happier.

Mine was a 1969 Suzuki AC-50, which I considered a "real motorcycle" compared to the other guys Benelli's and Honda mini-trails. I STILL can hear the ring-ding-ding of that 2 cycle pop-green dream machine wound out on the streets and trails at 55ish mph. My best friend got the exact same bike a month or so later, and those memories will never fade as we learned how to ride.

    This is my first:

She's a 1975 Honda CL360. I learned to ride back around 2004 on her looking something like this:
When I got it, it was completely stock, spray painted black, and not running.

    Then I bought another CL360, and a CB750 (both 1975s)

Followed by a birthday present to myself back in 2006:
it was the first new vehicle I have ever owned... and I may not ever do that again. I put new pipes on it, bars, paint, gauge bucket, tail and who knows what else, but it was never something I could be passionate about.

Now the Ducati's sold, and I picked up a '94 VFR in somewhat sad shape (not compared to my other junkyard finds though)
