Another 5th gen rear shock thread

Hi,
i am currently riding a vfr800 fi-x and have succumbed to the temptation of switching out the stock shock for something with a little more omphh..
Have read numerous threads about switching to a cbr shock of various types but i am having problem sourcing one in reasonable condition in the UK that isnt priced stupidly or that looks in poorer condition than the stock i have.
Are there any other options with similar upgrade off other bikes/newer models that would work as well? I am reasonably good with a spanner but am no expert when it comes to suspension.
Failing that does anyone know where i can get a reasonable condition/priced cbr shock in the UK?

 

check out the german ebay, there always a few mint shocks on there and they go cheap!

All the breakers in Germany list parts by their frame number which makes things easier! I don't know what model cbr you're after but say for example you want a 96-99 blade then type in sc33 and you'll get alot of results, shud be some shocks in there! I got a mint shock for a 93 blade(sc28) for 80 Euro delivered and there was a good few to choose from there last year! Gud luck! Once u find one google translate is your friend!
